Connecting the Ecosystem by Doing

What happens when founders, entrepreneurs, ecosystem players and curious minds come together — not just to listen, but to actively exchange ideas?

On 9 July 2026, UNTERNEHMA WOS. brought the Carinthian startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem to the Playability Lab in Wolfsberg for an afternoon of introductions, conversations, creativity and new connections.

The idea behind the event series is simple: starting a business comes with a lot of questions — and somewhere in the ecosystem, there is usually someone who can help answer them.

So, what did you miss?

After short pitches introducing organisations, initiatives and the support available to founders in Carinthia, the focus quickly shifted from presentations to participation.

And things got creative.

Instead of another classic networking session, participants were invited to build their answers with LEGO around three questions:

Who am I?
What can I offer the ecosystem?
And what do I need from the ecosystem?

The result was a room full of colourful models, stories, discussions and plenty of unexpected perspectives.

It was a great reminder that an ecosystem isn’t simply a collection of organisations and logos — it is built by people who share knowledge, open doors, ask for help and contribute what they can.

The Playability Lab was the perfect setting for exactly that kind of exchange: informal, playful and hands-on. Conversations continued around the tables, new contacts were made, and people who might otherwise only know each other from LinkedIn or an email finally had the chance to meet face-to-face.

For us at Startup Carinthia, this is exactly what a strong ecosystem should feel like: open, collaborative and connected across organisations and regions.
